Officially....
....I'm called FHead, also known as Yi Chen. I am a permanent resident of planet earth. I would definitely like to visit Mars some time though. People say it's safer there.
I like to....
I like to learn random stuff and do interesting things. It's not something small-scaled like learning random "facts", but rather about some random ability. For some reason I'm learning about doing computer illustration (digital art), and for some other reason I'm surveying through major languages in the world. Etc. I'll move on to composing music (and mixing, etc.) after I'm satisfied with my illustration ability.
Life is short, and one can't be happy if he can't do what he wants to do. I already had enough of do-something-in-the-future excuse in the past while I was just being lazy. I ended up not doing it. And I regret it. I already missed too much in my life, and there is no reason for me to miss more without trying. I'll try to keep my drop of oil in the spoon though. That's the baseline.
A bit about the past
I was born and grew up in east Asia until 18 years old, with the exception of 3-and-a-half years in Europe. Afterwards, I went to north America for undergraduate studies in MIT. I just got my Bachlor's degree, and are moving on to graduate studies at Caltech in physics.
As an undergraduate student I studied physics while minoring in neuroscience for fun. I also participated in the MIT Heavy Ion group working in CMS (compact muon solenoid), which is a general-purpose particle detector at the LHC (large hadron collider) at CERN. At the end of my undergraduate life, I did a project which probed, in a primitive way, the performance of the detector in finding electrons in heavy ion background (lead-lead collisions). And, cool, we can see Z0 boson mass peak (from electon pairs). I was also an active member of the MIT Anime club. The club has the largest (and expanding) library of Japanese animation in New England, and we hold showing every Friday night all-year long for years.
